Report Description:
Centuries before Europeans settlers came to Wisconsin, the people some call the First Americans or Native Americans, were living by the shores of the Great Lakes. One of the tribes that had the greatest prominence was the Ojibwae. Among the hundreds of bands within the Ojibwae tribe is the Red Cliff Band. The Red Cliff reservation is located on the shores of Lake Superior, north of Bayfield.

One of the most esteemed tribal elders in the Red Cliff Band is an eighty-six year old woman that everyone calls "Grandma Gen". Genevieve Goslin went to college for the first time at age 61 and finished a Master's degree at age 74. Producer JoAnne Garrett discovers how Grandma Gen's tie to Lake Superior has served as an inspiration for her and how she has served as an inspiration for her tribe.
